ELECTRIC CAR & CHARGER

Looking for a new car? State and Federal rebates can significantly bring down the cost of purchasing an electric car. Plus, they have lower fuel and maintenance costs!

WATER HEATER

The most efficient water heaters are electric heat pump water heaters. Same hot water + less energy used + $2000+ rebates = money saved and less pollution.

HEAT PUMP

Heat pumps save you money on bills by heating & cooling your home with significantly less energy AND there are a lot of rebates to help you pay for them right now.

SOLAR PANELS

Capture the power of the sun and get federal tax credits that are good for multiple years.

INDUCTION STOVE

A great way to cook, safer around kids, and no methane released into your home. Induction stoves are an easy choice and come with a great incentive.

ELECTRIC BIKES

Looking for an affordable way to get to work or take your kids to school? Want to break through traffic? E-bikes are a great way to clean up our air and get around town.

INSULATION

The cheapest energy is the energy you don’t use! Insulate your home for lower bills and better comfort, not to mention cleaner air for everyone.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

There are lots of ways to use less energy like programmable thermostats or new doors & windows. Get a rebate to pay for an energy audit to make a plan for your home.

ENERGY BILL PAYMENTS

Many Coloradans qualify for direct cash payments for their energy bills. See if you qualify today!

LOCAL REBATES

Some cities have programs to help fund home upgrades that save money. Ask staff for your city or town to see what they offer.

ELECTRIC PANEL UPGRADES

If you need to upgrade your electrical panel in order to electrify your home, here are ways to help you pay for it.

ELECTRIC LAWN EQUIPMENT

Gas powered lawn equipment creates a LOT of smog-forming pollution. In addition to the rebates below,  starting in Jan, there will be a tax credit for retailers to cut the up-front price for consumers. Who doesn’t love cheaper appliances?

There’s even funding to cover the gap between the rebate(s) and the total project cost. The CO Clean Energy Fund offers below-market-rate financing for clean energy projects! Find out more info and apply here.

How are real Colorado parents saving money and helping clean our air?

Mamas envision a future with clean air and water for our families, climate justice for all communities, and protected public lands that allow our children to enjoy our outdoor quality of life for generations to come.

Everyday we get closer to making that vision a reality by organizing Mamas across the Rocky Mountains and ensuring we are at the table where decisions are being made.

Who is a Mountain Mama?

Mamas include trans women, non-binary people, cis women, and any other person who finds themselves identifying in some way with the incredible label of “mom”. Everyone belongs in our work – that means we strive to increase our justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and center these values in our work.

We believe all children deserve to breathe clean air, drink clean water, enjoy public lands and have a bright future. We recognize that this vision is not true today and that Black, Latino/a/e and Indigenous families have borne, and still bear, the worst impacts of environmental degradation. Every community should have a voice that is heard as decisions are made that impact their community.

Mountain Mamas commit to working both within our organization and our communities to honor and support marginalized individuals.

Why care about clean air?

Colorado has an air pollution problem. The Denver/Aurora metro area is now the 10th worst for ozone pollution out of 229 metropolitan areas across the country. Several counties across the state have also received low or even failing grades for air quality. Bottom line, air pollution threatens our health today as well as our kids’ future tomorrow.

Transportation, electricity generation, and the oil and gas industry vie for the top spot of biggest polluter in our state. The good news is there are many ways we can improve air quality and Colorado Mountain Mamas is working to make them happen across the state.

What else do we work on?

In Colorado, our priority issues are clean air, climate justice, and the protection of, and equitable access to, our public lands. We got our start in 2013 working to pass methane safeguards and in 2014, Colorado became a leader in the nation by doing just that. Since then we have only grown while still sticking to our roots of local actions that make a global impact!

More recently our members helped pass the Colorado Climate Action Plan, Xcel’s Colorado Energy Plan which began the phasing out of their coal plants, low emission vehicle standards, the Great American Outdoors Act with full funding for the Land and Water Conservation Campaign, a ban on flaring during oil and gas operations, and legislation to make sure Colorado starts implementing Governor Polis’ Colorado Clean Energy Plan. We have also helped defeat a lot of initiatives that would have only added to our climate crisis.

Simply put, when you put a group of moms together, we’re going to get it done.

Our goal has always been to make local advocacy accessible to every parent, no matter how tight their schedule is.

We keep our members and supporters up to date on the meaningful actions they can do from home or in person to ensure a better, thriving future for their children (without all the inbox fluff and spam). For the parents who have a bit of extra time, we also provide the education and opportunities to meet with decision makers and be at the table where decisions about your community are being made.

If that sounds like what you’re looking forward, get started by taking action today!
